    Why it matters

    Why water-soluble dyes change everything

Most lipophilic dyes are highly hydrophobic and need DMSO or ethanol. Those solvents introduce artifacts and nanoaggregates that corrupt analysis of small particles like exosomes. Acoerela dyes are engineered to dissolve cleanly in water.

    Cloudy · aggregates

    Traditional Dyes

    Solvent-based — prone to clumping

    • Require DMSO or ethanol for reconstitution
    • Risk of forming micelles and nanoaggregates
    • Possible false-positive signals in analysis
    • Complex, multi-step sample preparation
    Clear · dissolved

    Acoerela Dyes

Monomeric — clean in aqueous buffer

    • Fully water soluble in aqueous buffer
    • No micelles or nanoparticle formation
    • Low background, high signal-to-noise
    • Reliable biological particle analysis
    Problem → Solution

See the light-on switch for yourself

Flip binding on. Conventional dyes keep glowing with background noise — Acoerela stays dark until it finds its target, then fluoresces clean.

    Target bound — signal on

    Conventional lipophilic dyesAlways noisy
    • Solvent-based prep with DMSO or ethanol
    • Nanoaggregates mistaken for biological particles
    • High background and false-positive signals
    • Locked to a single emission profile
    Acoerela platformFluorescing
    • Dissolves directly in aqueous buffer — one step
    • Monomeric dye — no aggregation artifacts
    • Fluorogenic "light-on" binding — near-zero background
    • Up to 5 tunable colors across the platform
    Why choose Acoerela

    Three reasons researchers switch

Stack through the core advantages that set Acoerela dyes apart from every conventional probe.

    01
    01Reason 1 of 3

    Fluorogenic

High quantum yield above 25%. Fluorescence increases dramatically only when the dye binds its target, where the surrounding environment becomes hydrophobic. The stark contrast between bound and unbound states delivers a clean "light-on" mechanism.

    02
    02Reason 2 of 3

    Diverse Color Options

The Acoerela chromophore platform derives up to five distinct colors. We continuously expand excitation and emission profiles to unlock richer multiplexing across a wide range of applications.

    03
    03Reason 3 of 3

    Water Soluble

Highly water soluble with no micelle or nanoparticle formation when reconstituted in aqueous buffer — unlike PKH26, DiR and DiD dyes that drive false positives in flow cytometry of exosomes.
